Meet some of the people who lead the way in making The Moorings such a remarkable place to live and work.
Lisa Vandermark
Executive Director
Lisa oversees all community operations, manages staff and fosters resident relations. She also serves on the corporate leadership committee.
Lisa has worked for Presbyterian Living for nearly 30 years in multiple roles. Before joining Presbyterian Living, Lisa was a crisis worker at both Evanston and Ravenswood hospitals. As a member of the adjunct faculty at Kendall College in Evanston, she also developed curriculum for and taught courses on aging.
Lisa, who resides on Chicago’s north side, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University and Master of Arts from the University of Chicago, The School of Social Service.

Diane Reier
Director of Admissions
Diane Reier has 17 years of extensive sales and marketing experience in senior living organizations: The Moorings of Arlington Heights, Aspired Living of Prospect Heights, formerly The Grandbrier, Assisting Hands Home Care, Brookdale Senior Living, Autumn Leaves Memory Care, and Lifeway Mobility Services, formerly EHLS. Diane is an active board member on two senior related organizations, The Arlington Heights Senior Center Inc and The Continuity of Care.
Diane and her husband Ed reside in Arlington Heights. They have 3 grown sons, all living in various locations throughout the USA, which provides unique opportunities for traveling. Diane is a dog lover and is the proud owner of a rescue mix, Daisy May. She also volunteers for the Buddy Foundation, a pet rescue/shelter, on weekends. Her greatest joy is she will become a grandmother in June of 2025 to a baby girl!
Tara DeLuca
Community Life Administrator
Tara was named Community Life Administrator of The Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2024. She is responsible for Independent Living resident satisfaction and plays a significant role in strategic planning, operational and administrative management, marketing support, prospective and current resident relations, hospitality services, community connection, and transitions. She has 25 years of combined leadership experience in senior living and public education, and a background in customer service and counseling.
Before her current title, Tara was the Director of Community Programs. LeadingAge Illinois awarded Tara the Strive & Thrive Management Award in 2024, recognizing Tara for an extraordinary commitment to excellence, initiative, and creative problem-solving.
Tara began her professional career collaborating with seniors at Manor Care, first as the Director of Social Services and Activities, and then as Director of Memory Care. Tara then went on to be the Director of Admissions and Marketing for Ballard in Des Plaines. Tara was also previously the Director of Social Services for Whitehall North, a premier nursing and rehab facility in Deerfield.
Tara was born in Chicago and raised in Frankfort, Illinois, and moved to Arlington Heights as a teenager. Tara obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Human Services emphasis from Elmhurst College, and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago. She has been an Illinois Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001.
Linafe Seblante
Director of Highlands Assisted Living and Memory Support
Linafe Seblante was appointed Director of Highlands Assisted Living and Memory Support at The Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2020. With over 16 years of nursing experience and more than 5 years in leadership roles, she oversees the daily operations of the community. Her responsibilities include regulatory compliance, staff management, budgeting, and resident assessments, among others.
Linafe began her nursing career in 2008 at St. Pauls House in Chicago, where she served as a Nurse and later advanced to the role of Wound Care Nurse. After 12 years, she joined Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights as Assistant Director of Nursing and subsequently worked at The Clare in Chicago as a Nurse Supervisor and Wound Care Nurse.
Originally from the Philippines, Linafe earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City. She is a U.S.-licensed nurse and has been a Wound Care Certified Nurse for 15 years.
Ewa Rejniak
Director of NursingEwa Rejniak was named Director of Nursing at The Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2023. Ewa is responsible for leading the nursing team, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and maintaining excellence in service delivery for residents and patients. She has more than two decades of experience in the nursing field, including 15 years as a Wound Care Specialist.
Ewa first joined The Moorings in 2019 as Memory Care Manager and served as the facility’s Wound Nurse. Before joining The Moorings, Ewa spent 14 years at Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, where she held multiple leadership roles and managed units ranging from post-acute rehabilitation to long-term dementia care.
Ewa began her career at Lutheran Home in 2005 as a staff nurse after completing her Associate Degree in Nursing from William Rainey Harper College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Northwest in 2016. She is certified in Wound Care and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and a CPASRM. She recently completed the Leadership Academy Program through LeadingAge Illinois, further enhancing her leadership capabilities and professional growth within senior living.
Born and raised in Poland, Ewa brings both cultural perspective and professional dedication to her role. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on clinical care, always striving to improve systems, support staff, and deliver the highest quality outcomes for residents and their families.
Jonathan Kaspar
Health Services Administrator
Jonathan Kaspar was named Health Services Administrator at The Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2017. He has more than 24 years of experience in life plan community leadership. He is responsible for the daily operations of the health center.
Prior to joining The Moorings, Kaspar worked at Covenant Living communities for over 16 years. Jonathan is a licensed nursing home administrator with a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Trinity University in Deerfield, Illinois.
Kara Nichols
Fitness Program Manager
Kara Nichols was named Fitness Program Manager at The Moorings of Arlington Heights in 2021, bringing with her a deep passion for wellness and movement. She has more than 18 years of experience in fitness and wellness leadership. In her role, Kara is responsible for designing and leading resident-centered programs, supporting functional movement and mobility, and creating engaging wellness opportunities that enhance quality of life.
Prior to joining The Moorings, Kara gained diverse experience across the wellness industry. She began her career in corporate fitness at Motorola’s World Headquarters, building a strong foundation in employee wellness. She later served as lead personal trainer at the prestigious Peninsula Hotel in Chicago and went on to become both Membership and Fitness Director at the Foglia YMCA. Her career also includes a transformative year in New York, where she studied yoga full-time, deepening her expertise in mindful movement.
A personal loss guided Kara toward senior fitness—after her grandmother’s passing from a fall, she felt a calling to help older adults live safely and independently. She now channels that purpose at The Moorings, where her programs empower residents to move better, feel stronger, and rediscover the joy of movement.
Raised in Wauconda Illinois, Kara holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sport Management from Lewis University. She is certified as a NASM and PTA Global Personal Trainer, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor, Power Plate Master Trainer, Active Aging Movement Specialist, and 500-Hour Yoga Instructor.
Pastor Patricia Madden Baik
Director of Spiritual Life
Pastor Trish Madden Baik was named Director of Spiritual Life of The Moorings in 2022. She has been an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) for over 20 years. Pastor Baik is responsible for nurturing the spiritual well-being of residents, families, and staff. Her role involves providing pastoral counseling, leading worship and memorial services, facilitating faith-based studies, and coordinating religious holiday programs and special events.
Before joining The Moorings, Pastor Trish served as Chaplain at The Lutheran Home of Arlington Heights for five years. Earlier in her ministry, she was a parish pastor for 12 years, serving Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg, IL, Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Elk Grove Village, and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL.
Born and raised in Rockford, IL, Pastor Trish obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. She received her Master of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, IL.
