b'Balancing a Zest for Life witha Commitment to Giving Gary Drenk with his dog, Sandy Gary Drenk has been a gear head his entire life: go-carts, dirt bikes, cars, The Moorings motorcycles, ATVs, and even airplanes. If it has a motor, he can tinker with it. Resident and He is also a bit of an adrenaline junkie. For example, he wasnt satisfied merely Genevato earn a pilots license; he achieved an aerobatics license and says that Foundation Donor aerobatics in an open cockpit airplane is unbelievable. And hes a committedand disciplined dog owner, walking his beloved Sandy every day year-round,no matter the weather.Given that zest for activity, you might be surprised to learn that Gary also loves numbers. While studying tax codes and IRS rulings in order to do his own taxesevery year, Gary began to realize that his careful budgeting (he embraces theterm penny pinching) meant he had saved a bit more than he needed. Withhis estate planning already in place, Gary decided to begin some outright givingto his favorite charitable organizations.I do a lot of research into how charitable organizations are runand I donate only when they meet some very high standards and the Geneva Foundation measures up, Gary says. Gary wanted to direct his gift to his community, The Moorings. He inquired about projects that need additional funding just as Executive Director Lisa Vandermark was trying to find resources to enhance the Healthcare Center. It was a perfect match for Garys generous gift and the rest, as they say, is history.ANNUAL REPORT 2025 PG 9'
