b'Keeping Loved OnesMemory AliveEva Nikellys was blessed with two wonderful brothers. Born in the U.S. to immigrantparents, with a World War I veteran father, Eva returned with her family to their native Island of Lesbos, Greece, at the start of World War II. Coming back to Illinois after the war, Eva worked for the Federal Reserve Bank for 28 years. Her brother ArthurNikellys was a Ph.D. clinical psychologist and associate professor emeritus at the University of Illinois with over 50 published articles and numerous books to his name.Evas brother John Nikellys was also quite accomplished, earning a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Cornell University and later teaching pharmacology and sciences.Now Eva honors her brothers memory with a monthly donation to the GenevaFoundation Annual Giving Fund. She also established a lecture series endowment for each brother: for John at the University of Illinois and for Arthur at the National Hellenic Museum. Eva NikellysMy brothers were my whole world. It is also Resident and my way of expressing how grateful I am that they were always Annual GivingFund Donorthere to love and support me, Eva says.Eva remembers as a child hearing the message in church to volunteer and be asgenerous as possible. She feels contributing to the Annual Giving Fund and having those funds applied wherever they are most needed is an extension of that lesson. Church continues to be an important part of Evas life.
