BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY FOR THE FUTURE The Moorings “Expansion” can be double-edged. Expanding one’s horizons? A good thing. Seeing one’s waistline expand? Probably not a good thing. Expanding The Moorings to add 70 Independent Living residences? A very good thing! And that is exactly what is happening, enabling us to meet growing consumer demand for senior living options in the Northwest suburbs. After months of financial projections, construction plans, and pre-sales activities, this long-anticipated expansion reached a milestone with a ceremonial groundbreaking in March 2026. Residents, future residents, and community partners gathered to celebrate not just the start of construction, but the next chapter of life at The Moorings. The $92 million expansion represents a significant investment in the future of the community and those who will call it home. Beyond creating homes for soon-to-be neighbors, these residences will foster growth and stability for the entire community. With completion anticipated in 2027, there will be much activity at The Moorings in the months ahead. Other recent construction activity at The Moorings involved the renewal and redesign of the town center (“The Landing”) and a refresh of the Healthcare Center. This effort refreshed and modernized important common areas and upgraded culinary offerings at the community. Together, these expansion and renewal endeavors help position The Moorings as a stronger community for generations to come. DOING FOR Three new dining venues, including E.B. Wheeler’s Supper Club, and inviting gathering spaces create welcoming places for residents to connect, dine, and enjoy everyday life together.
