THE MISSION IN ACTION AT THE MOORINGS Spiritual Retreats PEOPLE MAKING MORE POSSIBLE When Kathy Gordon makes unrestricted gifts to The Moorings, she entrusts us to direct her support wherever it is most urgent. We are honored to accept this responsibility, which ensures that we can respond flexibly to The Moorings’ most pressing needs. Kathy’s donations enhance programs, improve campus spaces, and strengthen compassionate care, making a lasting difference in the lives of our residents every day. The Moorings’ annual Christian Lenten retreat is a cherished tradition. This year, residents prayerfully planned and led an event themed To Listen Is to Love. Its central message: God loves us by always listening to us. In turn, we can love others and God when we ourselves listen. Almost 50 people gathered at the Odean Johnson Chapel in February to leave behind their usual morning activities, trading worldly noise for singing, conversations, games, personal witness talks, quiet reflection, and refreshments. Kathy Gordon, Unrestricted Donor, The Moorings Ryan Neal, Eagle Scout & Standing Garden Beds Builder Only 2% of Scouting America members achieve the Eagle Scout rank. The arduous requirements include planning and executing a comprehensive service project. Inspired by his grandmother’s short rehabilitation stay, Ryan Neal chose to give back to The Moorings by designing and building 10 standing garden beds. Completed in April 2026, his project improved accessibility for residents who use wheelchairs and enables more people to enjoy gardening. Summer Concert Series Residents dusted off their saddle shoes and enjoyed ukulele tunes and other music during an Outdoor Summer Party Concert Series. Held in the shade of an outdoor courtyard with cool refreshments, these three monthly events gave residents the opportunity to reminisce and enjoy live music they know and love. Holding the concerts in a common space brought many people—regardless of their care needs—together to celebrate summertime and enjoy The Moorings’ lively community spirit. 9 PRESBYTERIAN LIVING & GENEVA FOUNDATION 2026 ANNUAL REPORT
